Freight Car REMU 5000
REMU 5000 is produced for the first time as a scale model by Kato. The real freight car was the last two-axle refrigerated freight car of JNR, manufactured between 1964 and 1969. Depending on the manufacturing period, the roof shape varies, and they can be separated to those made in earlier (5000〜 ) period and those made in the later period (6000〜 ). REMU 5000 is characterized with better heat insulating capacity than conventional refrigerating cars. The horizontal blue belt was painted to show this capacity.
