The Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter entered service with the Soviet armed forces in the early 1970s. Known for its distinctive and easily recognizable design, it was equipped with a high level of firepower. Its rugged air frame and heavy armour granted the Mi-24 a prominent role within the military forces of Eastern Bloc countries, and it was deployed across numerous operational theaters. Over time, the Mi-24 has undergone continuous upgrades to its weapon systems and onboard avionics. Among the various versions produced, the Mi-24P Hind-F was fitted with a powerful fixed twin-barrel 30 mm cannon mounted on the starboard side of the fuselage. The most recent variant is the Mi-35P, which has been in production since 2020.
