Let it all begin with this one buggy: The Grasshopper, based on the 1-seater buggies that tore up dirt tracks across the U.S. in the 1980s, first hit R/C stores in 1984 and instantly became a favorite entry-level kit. Please note this is an unassembled kit requiring construction; it ships as a build-it-yourself kit and does not come pre-assembled or Ready-To-Run. Boasting genuinely easy assembly and easy control, the lightweight Grasshopper remains a perfect first R/C build, whether it's your first kit ever or your first in years.

A durable plastic body is fastened to a bathtub resin monocoque chassis by screws, creating a solid frame that shrugs off rough handling. Off-road tracks are no problem thanks to coil spring dampers along with independent swing axle front suspension and rigid axle rear suspension, while a diff-loaded sealed gearbox keeps dirt and stones out for smooth driving and cornering.

Paddle-style rear tyres paired with grooved front tyres and 3-piece assembly-type wheels deliver excellent grip on dirt tracks, and a half-body driver figure adds the finishing scale touch. The kit is also compatible with a range of option parts, including oil dampers, a 540 motor and ball bearings, letting the car grow alongside the driver's experience.
